We ended up spending the majority of the day travelling by train from Vienna to Salzburg. It was a combination of getting off to a late start and an hour’s delay in the train schedule. While boarding the train we encountered some very entitled passengers and needless to say "elbows up".
Once we got to our reserved seats they were occupied. Paula dealt with the situation with her stern teacher's voice and after the blood drained from the people's faces, they vacated their seats pretty quickly 😮.
Once these shenanigans were behind us, the train ride went well. The scenery was getting hillier and more mountainous as we got closer to Salzburg. We felt our ears pop a couple of times.
We did a brief walking tour of the town before settling back in our room to watch The Sound of Music. We will be going on the Sound of Music tour tomorrow which Paula has really been looking forward to. What we briefly saw of Salzburg was beautiful. We are really looking forward to checking things out in more detail.
