It took us 10 hours door to door to travel by train from Munich to Lucerne. We ended up taking 4 trains instead of 3 and went through Stuttgart and Zurich. They were celebrating Oktoberfest in Stuttgart where it is officially known as Cannstatter Volksfest. It was the 2nd last day of the feast and we witnessed lots of revellers wearing Lederhosen.
Before we hit the Swiss border we went through a town called Rottwell which is home to the Rottweiler dog breed. As soon as we hit the Swiss border the scenery became epic.
The long commute was worth it however as Lucerne is a beautiful place and we have a wonderful view of the Kapellbrücke (Chapel Bridge) on the Reuss River from our room.
We were tired and ended up spending the night watching the Footy in the pub downstairs. The Swiss prices are insanely high but we had a good time.
