We headed out early to cross the Chapel Bridge to beat the tourists but it was really unnecessary since they weren't too bad at all in Lucerne today. Fall has finally hit Europe and the temperatures were very seasonal today.
We then toured this beautiful place. It is by far the prettiest place we have been so far on this trip. The lake is surrounded by mountains and everything is so scenic. We visited the Löwendenkmal (Lion Monument) which was very impressive. It is a tribute to the Swiss Guards and surprised us with how big it is.
Our next stop was the Museggmauer (Musegg Wall) which is the old city fortification that consists of several towers and a wall. It was a bit of a precarious climb to the top of one of the towers but the view was worth it. We spent the rest of the day taking in the city's beauty and going for a stroll through the Fall Festival which seems to be the thing to do for the locals.
Everything is really expensive here with the exception of Swiss Army Knives. We picked one up that contains both a bottle opener and corkscrew. We will put them to good use on this trip.
